Knight In Highland Armor by Amy Jarecki

I received this book from Netgalley for an honest review. Amy Jarecki is a new author for me, when I saw the cover. I thought a story about a Highland warrior is one of my favorite types of historicals. I was not disappointed a bit this is the start of a new series. Lord Colin Campbell's wife died during child birth and he decides no more falling in love. The loss hurts to much to live through the chance of loosing another wife. So he petitions the king in help for finding a wife to care for his son. As he is sure he will be called to serve in the Crusades in the holy land. Enter Margaret Robinson she is thrilled when her father recieves a missive from the king. Until she learns she is to be married to the Black Knight. He only sees her as a mother for his son, she wants more. He arrives at one of his holdings to learn that construction is not going as smoothly as he hoped. Margaret talks with some of the women despite being told to stay put. She learns who they believe to be responsible, and vows to help somehow. Will Colin let her in his heart or will they continue to be at odds. When Margaret overhears something of import, she decides she must travel to the holding. An accident takes place and brings them closer together.  Colin must let go and say his goodbyes to his dead wife. Only then can he and Margaret finally become one. He is then sent off to the crusades where he is taken prisoner. He is gone for years and Margaret refuses to believe he is dead. Though his enemy has wormed his way in her life. He has even got her considering marriage to him. If only she would give up her hope. But Colin and she exchanged rings before his leaving. He swore he would never take it off except if he were dying to send home to her. Will Colin return to his wife and rid himself of his enemy. You got to read this book. I am looking forward to reading more of this series.
